Twistie 2
Here's another style of twistie. This is the method I use
for making vines and leaves.

 |
| 1. Wind a gather of glass onto the end of a mandrel. |
| 2. Marver the glass into a nice cone shape. There is only about 1/8" of mandrel in the glass. |
| 3. Paint stripes of a contrasting color onto the cone. |
| 4. Grab a small chunk of glass with your tweezers and pull off. Make sure you get nice even pull. |
| 5. Heat another mandrel to glowing red and stick into the other end of the glob. |
| 6. Heat the glob to a nice glowing football shape. |
| 8. Pull the glob out of the flame and rotate until the glow subsides. Carefully pull the glass. While pulling, rotate one mandrel toward you and one away from you. The stringer will pop off the mandrels when it cools enough. |
